iPrimus Launches Green Broadband™
A first in the Australian telecommunications industry
iPrimus, a leading provider of high quality broadband and other telecommunicationsservices in Australia, has joined forces with Landcare Australia to create a newbroadband program to help consumers neutralise the effect of greenhouse emissionsassociated with their broadband usage.
In an Australian first, for every customer who joins the iPrimus Green Broadband™program, Landcare will plant on average five native trees per year of service.

Mr Brian Scarsbrick of Landcare said: “In addition to reducing the carbon footprint ofthe customers, trees planted under the iPrimus/Landcare initiative will also helprestore natural habitat for endangered species; improve water quality in catchmentareas; reduce the effects of salinity and other environmental degradation. “iPrimus and Landcare have developed a conservative mathematical model andestimate that planting of five native trees will more than neutralise the effect ofgreenhouse emissions resulting from a typical family’s broadband usage over thecourse of a year” said Mr. Bhatia.
iPrimus estimates the Green Broadband program could result in up to 1,000,000trees being planted over the next four years.
Green Broadband customers will also receive a personalised e-certificate recognisingtheir contribution to the environment and will have access to a dedicated websiteproviding information and regular updates on the Landcare tree-planting projects.
Green Broadband customers will also have access to several other environmentfriendly features developed by iPrimus including on-line billing, on-line instantcustomer service and account management.
